How invr makes opportunity discovery private
Standfirst
invr is a private opportunity network that matches capabilities with roles, missions, grants, mentors, peer circles, teams, and ventures—without publishing a searchable directory of people.
Copy-ready short story
UNITED STATES — August 30, 2026 — invr has introduced a decentralised invitation service designed to let opportunities find people without making those people publicly searchable.
Instead of browsing profiles, an organisation or network participant expresses what capability they need. invr determines whether a relevant capability exists and sends a private message to the matching person's peerwise decentralised identifier. The person decides whether to accept an out-of-band introduction and what information, if any, to share next.
The network can support introductions to potential employers, mentors, coaches, grants, network-based circles of peers, teams, and new ventures. A job is one possible outcome, but it is not the definition of the network.
How privacy works
invr does not ask participants to publish a conventional profile or provide direct identifying information for matching. People can present redacted or selectively disclosed proofs of professional capabilities while keeping unrelated identity information private.
Other SilverAspen services can help a person verify an identity or capability. Those services operate as separate data contexts and do not send their account, identity, credential, or activity data to invr. The proof returns to the person, who decides whether to present it to a connection.
When someone disconnects from the invitation service, invr stops matching against their peerwise DID and deletes information under its control in accordance with its Privacy Notice.
Why it is different
Traditional professional networks make people searchable by name, employer, location, and work history. invr reverses that model:
- organisations express a capability need;
- people privately prove what they can do;
- invr identifies a potential match;
- the person receives an invitation; and
- the person decides whether the relationship continues.
The principle is simple: people are never inventory.
Initial network
invr is beginning with cybersecurity professionals in and around Virginia. California and London are the next communities the network is building toward, before expanding into adjacent technical fields and new regions.
Suggested description
invr is the private opportunity network where people prove capabilities, receive relevant invitations, and decide what to disclose. Nobody browses a database of human beings.
